Galanthus Bill Clarke (Pre-Order)

A robust, golden-yellow form of the Crimean snowdrop, Galanthus plicatus, bearing a clear yellow ovary and a generous yellow mark covering much of the inner segments in place of the usual green. The broad, pleated leaves typical of plicatus make a handsome foil for the bright flowers, which open in late winter. It is named after Bill Clark, the long-serving warden of Wandlebury Ring near Cambridge where 'Wendy's Gold' was also found, and was introduced through Joe Sharman of Monksilver Nursery. Vigorous and free-increasing once settled, it is one of the more reliable yellow plicatus cultivars.
