Galanthus Wind Turbine (Pre-Order)

A distinctive form of Galanthus plicatus named for the way its flowers behave as temperatures rise: the segments open quickly and splay out very widely, so the spread flower resembles the spinning sails of a wind turbine. It carries the broad, pleated leaves characteristic of the Crimean snowdrop and flowers in late winter. The plant was found by Tom and Jo Hynes in their garden at Higher Cherubeer in Devon. Its eye-catching, wide-opening habit makes it a talking point in collections of unusual plicatus snowdrops.
